RoRo-Terminal

Rollend nach Finnland

The Ro-Ro terminal at the Port of Rostock serves as a central hub for road freight transport between continental Europe and Scandinavia, with cargo such as lorries and trailers being driven directly on and off the vessels via ramps. Thanks to the extension of berths 50, 62 and 63 to a length of up to 250 metres, as well as specialised ramps, the port is designed to accommodate modern RoRo vessels and offers regular connections to Finland (Hanko, Kotka, Rauma) as well as a direct link to the A19 and A20 motorways.

The Ro-Ro terminal is situated in the immediate vicinity of the combined transport terminal (KLV), the ferry terminal and the car terminal. You can find out more about these terminals by clicking the buttons below.

Freight services to Finland

Whilst traditional ferry services primarily serve Denmark and Sweden, the Ro-Ro terminal mainly handles regular freight services to Finland:

  • Hanko / Finnlines 4 times a week
  • Kotka / Transfennica once a week
  • Rauma / UPM once a week

Extension and new construction

Development and New Construction

Berths 62, 63 and 50

Berths 62 and 63 have been refurbished to enable the handling of ships up to 220 and 250 metres in length, respectively, in the ferry and Ro-Ro sector.

Thanks to the refurbishment of the transverse quay and the construction of two 37-metre-wide ramps at Harbour Basin A in the vicinity of berth 50, ferries and RoRo vessels up to 250 metres in length can now also berth and handle cargo here.
