AIDAmar opens 2025 Cruise Season

The 2025 Warnemünde cruise season begins with AIDAmar arrival on April 13th. 167 calls by 36 cruise ships have been registered for this year by 23 cruise lines. The Rostock-based shipping company AIDA Cruises, for example, will make 68 cruise turnaround calls with AIDAdiva and AIDAmar at its base port of Warnemünde.

This season, seven cruise ships will call at the Warnow estuary for the first time: Viking Vela on May 12, SeaDream2 on June 3, Carnival Miracle on June 12, Vista on July 3, Viking Saturn on July 8, Ilma on August 4, and Le Laperouse on August 21, 2025.

The American cruise ship Sky Princess (gross tonnage: 145,281, length: 330 meters) is the largest passenger ship of the season and is expected in Warnemünde on June 4 and July 23.

"After the 148 calls last year, we are pleased with the continued upward trend. Rostock ranks a very respectable third among the most visited Baltic Sea cruise ports, after Copenhagen and Kiel," says Dr. Gernot Tesch, Managing Director of the port operator ROSTOCK PORT. Managing Director Jens A. Scharner emphasizes: "More than half a million national and international cruise guests will embark and disembark in Warnemünde this season. And after more than half of all ship calls were already supplied with shore power during their port stay last year, we expect shore power usage to continue to increase this year."

With the support of ROSTOCK PORT, the tourism office is hosting a port party on the Neuer Strom in Warnemünde to celebrate the first double port call of the season on April 27 by AIDAdiva and AIDAmar.

The 2025 cruise season is scheduled to end on December 18 with the call of Amadea, operated by the German shipping company Phönix Reisen.
